🇦🇲 Job offer letter in Armenia: what to include

Updated July 2026 · General information, not legal advice

Read in Русский · Deutsch · Español · Français

Armenia has become a fast-growing relocation and tech hub, especially for Russian-speaking teams, and its Labour Code is clear on the formalities. The written employment contract must be signed before work begins, and probation is short by design — offers to relocating candidates should reflect the current rules, not assumptions imported from neighbouring countries.

What to include in an Armenian offer letter

An Armenia offer usually specifies:

  • Position, workplace (Yerevan, remote) and working hours
  • Salary in AMD or USD/EUR equivalent — clarify the currency and any conversion mechanism
  • Contract duration (indefinite or fixed-term)
  • Probation period (up to 3 months) and how it can end
  • Annual leave (minimum 20 working days)
  • Any relocation support: residency, housing assistance

Probation and notice

Probation may last up to three months and must be agreed in the contract. During it, either side can terminate with three days' written notice. After probation, statutory notice from the employer scales with service — 14 days for under a year, and 35 days between one and five years — with longer periods for longer tenure.

Why companies hire in Armenia

A flat 20% income tax withheld at source, a straightforward funded pension, visa-free long stays for many nationalities and a fast, digital business environment make Armenia one of the simplest places in the region to employ people — provided the written-contract and probation formalities are respected. State the salary basis clearly (gross vs net), as local candidates often discuss net.
